Rationale The module provides an introduction to topics: Basic C & IT software and its application Academic reading, researching, writing and presentation skills Basic numeracy and statistics in support of business and management operations.
Description of initiative This is a core module for all first year BA Business management and Paralegal Studies students.
Assessment Formative : Draft of the first half of an individual Learning Log 

Summative : A group report, demonstration and presentation based upon a project undertaken in the second term. An individual Learning Log, which demonstrates the development of learning and skills in areas specified in both terms of the module and a reflection of personal development over the year.
