Rationale | This module introduces key critical terms and concepts and a range of potential approaches for the study of literature at university level. |
Description of Initiative | This core module is delivered via online lectures and seminars to cover approaches literature.The lectures introduce the terms, concepts and arguments central to each topic of the module, and the seminars develop these topics further through both tutor- and student-lead discussion.In addition to seminars this module includes four timetabled workshops which are team-taught with the AST or library staff using relevant material from the module.Students are also explicitly encouraged to apply the study skills developed in this module across their other modules, through the use of reflective blogs which form part of the assessment strategy for another core module (AFX1103 Integrated Learning Portflio). |
Ideas for adapting | Tailored workshops within the curriculum using genuine module materials to develop generic skills. Materials for ASTs are adapted and module tutors deliver within seminars. |
