Rationale | To focus studentsâ activity around the development of aims and objectives for dissertation at PG level. Also develop research and note-making skills in order to produce a literature review for dissertation. |
Description of Initiative | Through collaboration with module leaders LDG tutors delivered sessions using Summon highlighting the necessity for critical reading activity. A note-making pro-forma was developed in order to direct critical reading and note-making for research purposes. Key word cards were used to stimulate reflection on the idea creation process in order to begin to establish aims and objectives. |

Ideas for adapting | Explicitly illustrate research skills using electronic resources within a subject specific context. Skills should be reiterated throughout the writing process. Critical criteria for reading included as part of module assessment. |
